This work is inspired by Yayoi Kusama’s obsessions with vibrant colors and intricate dot patterns. I wanted this artwork to express “A Playful Obsession Of Infinite Possibilities” using Kusama’s motifs and bright colors in reflection to my life.
The bold flowers, cat, and swirling circles reflect my joy and fascination with nature, brought to life with vivid colors and movement. I liked the artwork to be observed in any rotation, hence the cat is shown upside down, depicting Kusama’s style of infinity dots with rotating and psychedelic visual impact.
Kusama’s exploration of infinity symbolises the endless possibilities and connections between all things. By layering bright colors and infinity patterns, I wanted to play reality and imagination together, to inspire hope in other viewers that they can be joyful, energetic and full of curiosity in exploring infinite possibilities of their life.
