Description

In 2050, I imagine Earth’s haunting future where humanity’s neglect has pushed our home planet to an inhabitable state.
In this self portrait, I picture life after Earth. Standing on a distant planet looking back at the remnants of a shattered Earth caused by global warming. My galactic-inspired attire, crafted from satellite plates, astronaut helmets, and bodysuits, serves as a reminder of our desperate escape. Strapped around my thigh are oxygen tank refills that help me with my daily commute outside of my terminal. It is a sign of the harsh realities of living in an alien environment.
Life in 2050 may be completely different that how it is now if we do not preserve our sacred and fragile planet. Earth is our home, and i hope that my work can highlight the importance of caring for our planet.
As I paint this artwork, I’m reminded of the catastrophic consequences of climate change. This artwork is a call to action, emphasizing the importance of preserving our sacred and fragile home. Let us strive to ensure that this dystopian future remains a work of fiction, not a bleak reality
